Personal
My family lives in Wickford Village
within walking distance of my office.
I read and listen to history, literature and crime fiction. I grow flowers, vegetables and fruit to nurture the soul and ride a bike in the woods and on the road to exercise.
If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.

Independent solo practices continue to be gobbled up by large groups, which are usually operated by hospital networks. While telemedicine may help
small independent practices, even greater efforts are needed to protect solo practitioners.
“Patients deserve choices,” Dr Machata said. “Do we want patients only choice to be cared forby overworked doctors seeing as many patients per hour as possible because bean-counter bosses treat medical care like an assembly line? Small practices offer patients the ability to receive personal care at a relaxed pace.”
Both business skills and telemedicine have not been high priorities for medical school training programs. Unless this changes, overall care could be negatively impact, Dr Machata said. “Given that two-thirds of graduates are employed after their education, the incentive to teach business skills continues to fade,” he said. “Medical schools seem content to permit insurance companies and bean counters to control the business side of medicine.”

Wickford
Michelin Guide New England
"This colonial village on the shores of Narragansett Bay developed in the 18C as a center for goods shipped to Newport from plantations on the mainland. Fishing and shipbuilidng became principal activities after the Revolution as Wickford grew into a bustling, prosperous shipping port. The large concentration of 18C and 19C white clapboard dwellings that distinguish Wickford date from this period."
